It's hard to meet new people. It's even harder when the person you're trying to meet is someone you'd also like to date. I, like pretty much everyone nowadays, turned to dating apps to try my hand at forming a connection with a stranger I found on the internet.
Thus began the typical dating experience:
Downloading the apps? Check!
Matching and messaging people I've never met (stranger danger who?) Consider it done!
Actually going on the date? Mission accomplished!
Stewing in the horror of telling everyone I met my partner through a dating app? Y i k e s.
I know they say dating is a numbers game, but more often than not I found myself feeling discouraged.
Dating is hard.
And confusing.
And frustrating.
After deleting and re-downloading the apps for the millionth time, I found myself thinking there had to be another way.
I looked into everything from singles events, to getting involved in clubs, to hiring a matchmaker, but everything I found was either outrageously expensive or just not quite what I was looking for. After a few months, I decided I wanted to create a dating experience that myself and others would enjoy.
meetcute is an events-based dating company that is revolutionizing the relationship game. We host a variety of singles events at all price points to give everyone the opportunity to form a real connection.

Meet the Team
Katherine moved to Colorado in 2018, and though she only planned to stay for one year, she couldn’t bring herself to leave. When she’s not working, Katherine spends most of her time reading fantasy books, going on adventures with friends, and playing with her dog.
Katherine is a hopeless romantic and has never enjoyed online dating. She found herself downloading and deleting apps every few days, and other options for meeting local singles were extremely limited. meetcute was born in the hopes of making dating a little easier and a lot more exciting for everyone looking to find their “person.” And who knows? She just might find her own meetcute love story along the way.

MaKayla moved to Colorado from Texas in 2020 and quickly fell in love with all the state has to offer. On the weekends you’ll catch her snowboarding, hiking with her dog Gamora, or playing board games at a local craft brewery. She and her husband, Hans, met back in college. Both student athletes who were introduced by friends, they share a meetcute story of their very own.
MaKayla became instant friends with Katherine and wanted to help bring her vision of meetcute to life. The two founders love trying new things together and now organizing adventures for others to enjoy!
